Privacy Policy

What we collect

Account & profile — phone number (your login), optional backup email, name, date of birth (18+ verification), gender and preferences, photos, prompts, bio, lifestyle details and tags you choose to add.
Location — a coarse, city-level location (rounded to about 1 km) used for distance-based matching. Your exact coordinates are never shown to other users.
Connected services — if you link a service (e.g. Spotify, a game account), we store the public signals you choose to display (e.g. a game rank). We never receive your passwords for those services.
Usage analytics — app events such as screens viewed, swipes, and feature usage, tied to a random device identifier. Used to improve the product; never sold.
Purchases — subscription and purchase state comes from Apple. We never see your payment card details.

How we use it

To run Charm: matching, discovery, chat, rank, and safety features.
To keep the community safe: automated content moderation (including scanning of uploaded images and messages for prohibited content), enforcement of our 18+ policy, and abuse prevention.
To improve the product through aggregate analytics.

What other users see

Your profile (name, age, photos, prompts, bio, tags, city, rank, and any signals you display). Never shown: your phone number, email, exact location, or private filters/preferences.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who run Charm's infrastructure (hosting, authentication, push notifications, content moderation), with authorities when the law requires it, and in connection with reports of illegal content (e.g. child-safety reports to the proper authorities).

Retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. To delete your account and data, contact support@charmapp.lol. Some records may be retained where the law requires (e.g. safety and legal-compliance records).

Age

Charm is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; underage accounts are removed.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit; access is restricted; purchases are verified server-side against Apple's signatures. No system is perfectly secure — report concerns to the address below.
